Consilio helps you to start a conversation again
Consilio places great importance on a personal approach. To provide that support, it is essential that you have trust in the value added by the mediator, conflict mediator, or conflict coach. Therefore, during the initial conversation, the independent and neutral role, as well as the confidentiality obligation, will be explained. Fostering a sense of trust and safety promotes openness
At times, it may be important for individual meetings to take place with each of the parties involved. This allows everyone the opportunity to discuss specific matters with the mediator before they are addressed in the joint sessions. Individual meetings occur only if all parties involved agree to this.
Whatever conflict you are dealing with
Not against you, but with you.
People may temporarily turn their backs on each other for various reasons. Our mediators are there for you, but even more so, with you.
Moving
We empathize with your personal story and that of the other party. This opens the path to a solution that everyone can move forward with.
Listening
We do this first and foremost by listening. You will have the opportunity to tell your own story with us without judgment or condemnation.
Trust
With us, you are free to speak and express what truly matters. Attention and respect are our core values. Trust and confidentiality are highly important to us.
Safety
We are involved without being biased. We can empathize sufficiently with your conflict without taking ownership of it
Guidance
If our guidance leads you to find a solution for your conflict, then we have succeeded in our mission. We can also continue to support you even after the conflict has been resolved.
Conflicts and the role of our mediators
Conflicts arise because no two people are alike
People are social beings. Every day, we seek each other out. We build upon our existing relationships and initiate new ones, both in our personal and professional lives. Because no two people are alike, conflicts can arise as a result.
By placing mutual interests at the forefront, one can arrive at a suitable solution. This can help prevent a trip to the court, saving time and costs. But perhaps even more importantly, the relationship with the other party in the conflict is not needlessly terminated.
Our mediators empathize with your personal story and that of the other party. This opens the path to a solution that everyone can move forward with.
Different roles
What are the options to arrive at a suitable solution?
The public brochure below clarifies what mediation is, the benefits of an MfN-registered mediator, and when and why you might engage one. The brochure is available online as a PDF below.
Mediation
The mediator maintains an objective stance during the search for a conflict resolution, guides the process, and creates space for the participating parties. This allows them, based on their own understanding of the conflict, to arrive at a mutually satisfying end result.
Conflict resolution
The conflict mediator examines the individual interests of the participating parties in depth. Additionally, the conflict mediator identifies where these interests clash and where any underlying tension might exist. Based on this substantive leadership role, a concrete solution proposal is developed.
Conflict coaching
The conflict coach assists the participating parties in becoming aware of persistent ineffective behaviors that hinder conflict resolution. Subsequently, the parties are guided toward effective behavior, emphasizing interaction and making a positive contribution.
The core of the conflict
The mediator focuses on the core of the conflict. It's important to clarify what the conflict is about, so that a distinction can be made in the type of conflict and the stage in which the conflict is located. Especially the latter determines how parties react and the quality of the solution. Openness of the parties often increases creativity in this phase, which is necessary to explore the needs of the parties.
At times, it may be important for individual meetings to take place with each of the parties involved. This allows everyone the opportunity to discuss specific matters with the mediator before they are addressed in the joint sessions. Individual meetings occur only if all parties involved agree to this.
What forms of mediation do we offer?
Family and divorce conflicts
The benefits of mediation in divorce
In the case of a divorce, communication between (former) partners can often be difficult. This is usually due to a lack of understanding, mistrust, and emotions. Through mediation, you can make agreements amicably. You decide which agreements you wish to establish with your (former) partner. The advantages of this are that you often reach a solution more quickly, avoid going to court, and maintain mutual contact - often in the best interest of the children.
Children need to understand and process a divorce
Children don't choose their parents' divorce; it happens to them. Our mediators are there for the children of divorced parents and provide them with the opportunity to share their story, primarily to prevent them from ending up in a loyalty conflict. Mediation ensures that the children's interests are brought to the attention of the parents, after which a parenting plan can be jointly developed.

Introduction
Feel free to call; we will explain our approach, the process to be followed, the duration, and the costs. An (optional) introductory meeting is free of charge.
Progress and costs
At the end of the first meeting, (task) agreements are made to ensure progress during the subsequent discussions. The method of reporting and the determination of the agreement are also discussed. Our mediators use an MfN agreement. Mediatorsfederatie Nederland. Wij werken volgens het MfN Mediationreglement en wij houden ons aan de MfN gedragsregels.
What are the costs?
A mediation process takes less time than hiring a lawyer or going through a legal procedure. Compared to a lawyer, you save costs when using a mediator. The costs of mediation are typically divided between the parties. In the case of employment mediation, the employer usually covers the mediation costs.
All-inclusive price for a divorce
If you want a quick divorce and can easily reach agreements together, our mediators can, along with you, ensure that a joint divorce application is submitted to the Court within two weeks. We charge an all-inclusive price of €2,400.00 per person, including VAT, for this.
Government-funded legal assistance
Depending on your income, you may be eligible for subsidized legal aid, known as 'legal aid assistance' or 'subsidy.
We are affiliated with the Legal Aid Board and can apply for this subsidy on your behalf. In this case, your costs are limited to just the 'own contribution,' which is €59.00 or €117.00 for the entire mediation process in 2023. For a divorce or dissolution of a registered partnership, there is an additional €43.00 in court fees.
